Meet Our Team
Kenya Beckford
I am Kenya Beckford, one of the co-owners of I Matter Because LLC. My journey of assisting others began at a young age and has shaped my life ever since. During my teenage years, around 14-15, I discovered the immense satisfaction and humility that comes from volunteering to deliver food to shut-ins and providing companionship to patients at the local nursing home. The feeling of being of service to someone is truly extraordinary. Even after more than two decades, that sentiment remains unchanged within me.
My approach to helping others is guided by compassion and empathy. I believe in lending a listening ear and actively participating in my clients' personal growth. Having spent a significant amount of time in this field, I have witnessed the disparities, unfair treatment, and injustices that exist. It is my mission to empower my clients by teaching them that they have a voice and deserve to be treated with kindness, humility, and utmost respect. Above all, I want them to know that they matter.
Tashana Tulloch
My name is Tashana Tulloch, one of the co-owners of I Matter Because LLC. When people experience trauma or life stressor, it is not uncommon for lives to unravel. My greatest passion is to assist children, individuals and families heal through a traumatic/stressful experience. Helping others move from a place of striving to thrive. My journey began in the medical field pursuing a degree in nursing. While pursuing my nursing degree I was introduced to the field of social work and mental health and it was then that I decided to pursue a degree in Social Work and Counseling. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and later a Masters in Counseling. While pursuing my education I was blessed to be in a position to assist those in need. I worked extensively with the medically fragile, developmentally delayed, abused, and neglected population within the foster care system.
As a social worker with over 20 years of experience working with the underprivileged community where access to resources is limited, it became my mission to develop a business that would provide advocacy, support, and resources to families and individuals, help them find a healthy perception of themselves and strengthen their relationships allowing them to thrive in their communities. I recognize that there is not one approach to assist in the healing process that's why utilizing a person-centered, solution-focused approach to treatment allows for each individual to assist in the treatment outcome. I am committed to the personal growth and success of the clients we serve within the community.
